Description

Robin Arnott lives in Austin and Black Rock City. He is an audio designer and interactive artist, best known for "that creepy gas mask game", Deep Sea and "that chanting game," SoundSelf. He is also the curator of Indiecade's annual "Night Games" party.

History

Deep Sea

In 2010 the NYU Game Center selected "Deep Sea" as one of their first curations for the now annual "No Quarter" exhibition of games. Deep Sea makes use of a custom peripheral - a blinding gas mask with microphones hidden in the breath ports to track the player's breathing. The result is rather creepy.

Sound Design

Also, Robin does Sound Design! Like for Alex Bruce's "Antichamber", or Adam Saltsman's "Capsule" (which is totally awesome and underplayed).

SoundSelf

Right now Robin's working on his follow-up to Deep Sea, "SoundSelf," in collaboration with programmer Evan Balster. "SoundSelf" is the only reason this particular page exists, so you should maybe go check that out.
